The Austrian Orienteering Federation is advertising for the job of a national trainer and manager for coaching top-class athletes.
This advertising is primarily directed towards applicants abroad.
Areas of responsibility
· Planning and organizing of the sporting year for elite and junior squad.
· Coordinating and organizing of the activities/training camps of the squads home and abroad.
· Professional coaching of the athletes during all the activities and competitions of the squads.
· Informative coordination of talks with those responsible for youth and army squads.
Essential qualification
· State-certified qualifications for orienteering / track & field
Desirable qualification
· Experience in orienteering at the level of competitive elite sport (runner, trainer, sporting director)
· Good international contacts
· Good English
· Economic basics and organizing skills as well as social competence
Targets
· Top ranking at WOC 2007, 2008 (minimum level of WOC 2005)
· Ideas and suggestions to improve steadily the level of athletic achievement
Working hours
· Working hours by arrangement. Nevertheless we are aiming at a long-term co-operation with the trainer (male or female) in order to allow optimal competitive structures to be created and established.
· It is up to the trainer whether to work alone or in a team.
· Within the frame work of a project the Austrian Federation of Orienteering has sufficient financial means to pay for a qualified trainer.
