Trainer for the Austrian National Team

The Austrian Orienteering Federation (OFOL) is looking for an elite national team trainer with the begin of 2010:
Requirements
•
Skilled and experienced trainer for the Austrian Elite Team
• Experienced trainer beyond national standards – „international top level trainer“ (ideally having experience as a trainer in a leading orienteering country) • Wide technical experience in orienteering (e.g. personally having done high performance orienteering) • High personal commitment
Tasks • Leading of and responsibility for the elite national team • Support of the coaches of the junior and youth team (head coach of all Austrian teams) • “Train the trainer” function for other (national team) coaches • Design of short-, medium- and long-term plans for the elite team • Planning of the national team orienteering activities (normally that does not include the organization of details, which should be done by other staff members) • Reconciliation and coordination of objectives, yearly and further plans and the precise activities together with personal trainers, the Federal Military Sport Center and regional training centers • Participation in all core activities (training camps and competitions) of the national team at least in the extent of approximately 40-45 days/year and taking part in core activities (training camps and competitions) of the youth and junior team at least in the extent of approximately 10-15 days/year • Design of concepts for orienteering training with the highest standards (maps, courses, objectives and tasks for athletes in the respective training etc.) – the actual implementation of the trainings can be carried out by other staff members as well • Post-processing of the trainings (observation of runners in different situations e. g. at the start, during trainings and competitions; analysis, follow-up meetings, feedback) • Giving advice for the runners in training camps, competitions and in coordination with the personal trainers and as far as possible also during the individual training periods (by e-mail, phone etc.). Advice should cover fields such as: training, plans for training and strategies for competitions etc. • Willingness to cooperate in the basic and advanced education of other trainers • Consultancy for the trainers and the athletes of the Federal Military Sport Center • Extent of employment: 70-90 days/year
